Ollie Davidson (Chevy Chase, MD) "I have fond memories of my Brecksville days and I am looking forward to seeing many high school friends at our reunion. Since my initial world venture in 1960, life has been a whirlwind of adventure, including a lot of disaster-related activities." Ollie and his "loving and tolerant wife Roxanne" have been married for 37 years. They have two children, Oliver and Christina. Their summer weekends are often spent sailing on the Chesapeake Bay. Ollie states, "There is meaningful life after 23 years of US Government service primarily in Washington, DC, but also in Vietnam and Ghana."

 

Much of Ollie's life has been defined by his work. The following is a summary from the website of one of his employers, The US Chamber of Commerce's Business Civic Leadership Center.

 

'Ollie Davidson, Senior Disaster Advisor, advises US Chamber leadership and membership on disaster planning and response practices for both domestic and international events. He is concurrently the senior advisor for emergency services at the Humane Society of the United States, where he has served for more than 10 years.'

 

'Davidson's career in disaster management spans 40 years, and Davidson is one of the nation's leading experts on public-private partnerships, as well as mitigation and recovery planning.'

 

'Davidson has held senior positions at USAID and its Office of US Foreign Disaster Assistance, FEMA, the American Red Cross, and other vital disaster organizations… Davidson participated in more than 320 declared disasters during his US government career.'
