Dianne Reed Placko

Dianne Reed Placko (Parma Hts., OH) finds it hard to believe it's been 50 years since graduation. "It seems like yesterday we were walking across the stage to receive our diploma from Jim Ulrich's mother."

After graduation Dianne enrolled in and graduated from St. John's Hospital School of Nursing in 1962. She passed the Boards and spent most of the last 45 years working as a Registered Nurse. Dianne retired in 2007.

Dianne has four children, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Her son Dennis was born in 1964 and now has 2 children. Briana arrived in 1988 ad Shayne arrived in 1990. Briana is the mother of Dianne's great-grandson, Ben born in June 2008. Dianne's daughter Carreen was born in 1968 and has two sons. Mike, her first grandchild, turned 21 this January ad "is either in or heading for military service in Afghanistan. I am not thrilled about this." Mike's brother Nick was born in Germany in 1993 and is in high school. Dianne's son Sean inherited a daughter, Adelle, when he married Jennifer in 2005. Adelle is 17 and in high school. Sean and Jennifer had their son Colin on December 13th, 2008 which is also my mother's birthday. "I guess my mother still has her finger in our family affairs from heaven."

Finally Dianne's daughter Shannon was born in 1970. She has three children, Kayleigh arrived in 1991, Jon in 1996 and Savannah in 2000. Shannon, Jon and Savannah live with Dianne while Shannon goes to school. "I do lots of grandma stuff and wish I had more room in my apartment!"
